According to DOYLE BRUNSON in his SUPER SYSTEM II book, the most noticable TELL on a poker player is the arteries and veins in a players throat.

Yeah but whats that tell ya?

He has a hand? Or he is trying to get by with a marginal hand with a big pot?

I know my blood pressure goes up when i have hand and it goes to the river and I worry about it helping my opponents than helping me becuase I really don't need it.

I don't worry about getting a draw to help me when I probably shouldn't be in the hand in the first place.

I do worry when..
I hate it when I have like a pair of aces then get a set on the flop and then watch some pinheaded ********** draw 5 high straight...My anxiety reaches its peak at this point especially when I have raised, cehck raised,re-raised only to watch it go by the wayside with someone who stayed in the hand with a 2,4 offsuit.

Watch for people who look at their cards a lot. The longer they look, the weaker they are.

Looking at your cards a long time...

This is true in many situations. If you play against more experienced players they sometimes do it on purpose. But yea, alot of new players look at there cards "hoping" they change or something... I have seen the vein tell before. This kid who plays pretty tight raised around $30 preflop. I laid down AQ. He said he had a small pocket pair when I asked him,and after i told him about his neck, he admitted to AKs. My favorite tell, however, has to be when someone takes forever to make a decision and then makes a raise. Are they serious? No way Im falling for that one. Its like they learned how to play poker from Mike McDermott on rounders.

Looking at cards

THIS IS PRECISELY WHY WHEN I HAVE K-K or A-A, I pretend to look at my cards alot, thinking that players will think I have a more complicated hand then two suited high cards.

Cheapseats,

Consistent play will kill you. It is the breeding ground of tells, good players will be able to read you like a book man, quickly too. If you keep a planned mix in your play good things will happen. Trust me.

i.e: First two times you've had monters(ak,aa,kk,qq etc.) you've raised and looked often at your cards to throw others off. Next two times you get monters mix it up, maybe you raise and throw a chip on your cards. It keeps observant MF'ers like me guessing, and makes it harder to put you on a hand, EVERY pot you're in. (This strategy is fairly dependant on weather or not your opponents have seen your hand, you get the point).
